Medium: Inkjet Printing, Jersey Fabric

This garment started with a pilgrimage to visit an ancient tree entity of the species Athrotaxis cupressoides, the Pencil Pine. Endemic to Tasmania they live to be thousands of years old and can exist within Deep Time.

I began to survey its spatial features through images to begin forming a 3D digital re-creation. I then developed an ENVIRONMENT–EXPERIENCE map from this process.

Afterwards printing the map onto fabric, overdying silver & grey then constructing a dress. This garment holds knowledge of place within it and grants the wearer access through space & time to its origin landscape.
