Wind Sensor

2026 · Superflux

Medium: Raspberry Pi, Electronic Sensors, Steamed Willow, Recycled Cotton Paper, Beeswax, Dyneema DCF, PETG, Mild Steel, Aluminium

Role: Designer/Maker

A fourth speculative design entity for the NTMRD system. Dual box wings are mounted to an architectural core housing an array of particulate matter, anemometer and air sensors. Moving like a kite, the sensor picks up wind speeds and the textures of the air.

Alongside three other entities, data is collected and streamed to the main processing unit. Environmental patterns are examined, and poetic prompts are generated to nudge human behaviour towards noticing and attuning to ecological rhythms.

On display at Weltmuseum Vienna as part of Superflux's first major solo exhibition, The Craftocene.
